I wanted to take the time to thank you personally for all of the help you gave us at Warfield Elementary this year. I've been teaching for six years, and four of those years in fourth grade(this my first year at WES). This is the first year I feel I have been able to properly help my students prepare for the writing exam. I thoroughly enjoyed your details and elaboration workshop at the begining of the year, and later when you came to Indiantown to address our personal concerns. I took to heart the activities and suggestions you gave me personally and implemented them the next school day. I have also purchased your details and elaboration binder and absolutely love it! I am hoping our school purchases them from the begining of the year as school resources. The one activity my kids really liked was the "Let's Go to the Movies" game. (Picture me standing on a stool in front of the vcr pausing and playing since I couldn't figure out how you were able to get the clips on your computer- a little tip there if possible- but it was fun...).

I feel that your personal attention and genuine attention and willingness to share and help is what made the difference. My students performed the highest ever of any of the fourth grade classes I have taught. Happily I can say that out of the 14 students I instructed and tested this year, only two did not score a 4 or higher, and yet, their scores were an overall improvement for what they'd been doing through the year. I definitely know how I would like to start my year off in August, and have a better idea on what to focus on during instruction.

“.....This past year was my first year teaching 4th grade writing. I must admit that I was very intimidated having to follow the successes of such a great teacher. However, we were fortunate enough to be told to use your program. After using your program, our students performed so well that we were able to tie for 2nd in our district (Polk) with a 4.3 average and only one of 2 or 3 schools to have 100% of their students pass both the essay and language parts of the test. Keep in mind more than half of our 30 students qualified for testing accomodations because of ESE, ESOL, or 504 plans because of medical reasons. I even had a child score a perfect six, and 4 or 5 students score a 5.0 or 5.5. I can't thank you enough for creating such a wonderful, straightforward program that students and teachers enjoy using.
